Interactive Technologies

In the field of Computer Aided Design, current human-computer interaction models based on bidimensional environments could be insufficent both in the design/editing and in the visualization phase. In particular, in the early development stages of designing, in which an abstract idea needs to be quickly prototyped, or whenever extreme accuracy is not necessary, the demand is to only manipulate and modify in a simple and effective way the 3D object. In these cases the use of human-computer interaction techniques based on gesture recognition can surpass traditional techniques.
The research activity in WP 4 focuses on the analysis of new Human-Interaction techniques and in the design and production of the hardware, following usability principles for the final user.
The following are two current WP 4 projects.
